Three Resident Evil remakes hit Switch 2 tomorrow: Canadian prices and storage compared

All three arrive tomorrow, but physical follows later

Capcom’s three recent Resident Evil remakes arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 on Friday, October 16. The digital lineup is Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition. Capcom’s release announcement confirms all three titles, the Switch 2 platform, and the October 16 digital date.

Players waiting for a boxed copy will have to wait longer: Capcom lists January 29, 2027 for the physical versions. That makes tomorrow’s release a digital launch, not a same-day retail launch. Nintendo Canada’s listings currently show each game as a Switch 2 eShop release.

Canada’s eShop prices range from $27.71 to $55.19 today

Nintendo Canada lists Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition at $41.24 CAD (regularly $54.99), Resident Evil 3 at $27.71 (regularly $41.99), and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition at $55.19 (regularly $68.99). Those are the store prices checked October 15, 2026; Nintendo’s pages may change, so confirm the amount at checkout.

At the listed current prices, buying all three would cost $124.14 CAD, versus $165.97 at their listed regular prices—a difference of $41.83. The store pages show discounts, but do not establish in the information reviewed how long each offer lasts. Treat the listed savings as a snapshot, not a promised post-launch price.

The trilogy needs about 55.9 GB of storage

Nintendo eShop listings show 14.0 GB for Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, 12.9 GB for Resident Evil 3, and 29.0 GB for Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition. Together, that is 55.9 GB of listed download space. The per-game figures were reported from the eShop by Nintendo Life and Nintendo Wire; Nintendo’s product pages are the place to recheck each listing before downloading.

Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition is the largest file at 29.0 GB, a little more than half of the trio’s combined size. If you plan to install all three at once, leave room beyond the listed total for updates and system data; 55.9 GB is the games’ stated download-size sum, not a guarantee of the exact free space your console will need over time.

What Canadian buyers should check before launch

The Canadian product pages make it possible to compare each edition, current price, and release date before downloading. Resident Evil 2 is the Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3 is listed as the standard title, and Resident Evil 4 is the Gold Edition. Those are the specific Switch 2 catalog products, so make sure the edition name matches what you intend to buy.

If you are deciding whether to buy one or all three, the practical difference is clear: Resident Evil 3 is the least expensive and smallest download, while Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition is the most expensive and largest. The prices and download figures above are a dated check of Nintendo Canada’s store listings, not a review or a performance comparison.
