Nintendo’s September Direct maps out a packed Switch 2 winter

Nintendo used its September 9 Direct to give Switch 2 owners a clearer look at the next wave of games. The presentation mixed new first-party projects, upgraded editions and major third-party releases, with several dates now confirmed for Canada.

The biggest new Switch 2 announcements

Metroid Ravenous is scheduled for January 28, 2027, with standard and special editions planned. Kirby and the World Beyond is coming in spring 2027 as a Switch 2 exclusive, giving Nintendo two very different new adventures to anchor its next year.

The presentation also highlighted Persona 6, Persona 4 Revival, Final Fantasy VII Revelation and Monster Hunter Wilds. Nintendo Canada lists Monster Hunter Wilds for December 4, while Final Fantasy VII Revelation is planned for April 8, 2027 and Persona 4 Revival is set for May 20, 2027.

More than new games

Nintendo also showed upgraded editions and new content for existing releases. Pikmin 4 is getting a Switch 2 Edition with Dandori Academy, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is receiving a Definitive Edition, and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is scheduled for October 22. The Direct also included updates for Mario Kart World, Star Fox and Pokémon Pokopia.

What Canadian players should watch next

The most useful next step is to watch the Canadian Nintendo Store pages for pre-order timing and final CAD pricing. Nintendo Canada already lists prices for several featured titles, but availability and editions can change before launch. Juiso will track those listings and price changes as they appear.
