Mario Kart World’s October Open is underway: Toronto hours, entry code and reward
October 18, 2026
Nintendo’s Switch 2 qualifier is live through 9 p.m. Sunday in Toronto. Here’s how Canadians can enter, what the 50 Platinum Points mean, and how Fall Cup qualification differs.
The event runs all weekend in Toronto time
Nintendo’s October Mario Kart World Open runs from 2 p.m. Pacific on Saturday, October 17, through 6 p.m. Pacific on Sunday, October 18. That converts to 5 p.m. Saturday through 9 p.m. Sunday in Toronto and Eastern time. It’s an open event window rather than a single scheduled race, so players can join during the published period. Nintendo’s event notice gives the Pacific start and end times; the Toronto times here are converted to EDT.

This is the October online qualifier associated with Nintendo’s Fall Cup, not the December championship itself. Nintendo’s official Fall Cup rules identify the October event as a qualifying opportunity and list a separate championship date of December 12. Check the local-time conversion before joining, and leave time before Sunday’s cutoff if you want to complete races within the event window.
Enter in-game with Event ID 4450
To find the event, open Online Play in Mario Kart World, press the minus button to search for an event, and enter Event ID 4450. Nintendo lists the same code in its event announcement. You’ll need a Nintendo Switch 2, the game, a Nintendo Account, an internet connection, and a Nintendo Switch Online membership; see Nintendo’s membership page for Canada for current plan details.
The published format is a 150cc VS Race with no teams, normal items, no COM players, connected courses, and a limit of 32 races. The point is to join the designated event rather than queue for an ordinary online race. Nintendo also notes that a participant’s username, player icon, and score may be displayed publicly on the results page, so review your account presentation before entering.
The 50-point reward is separate from qualification
Nintendo says eligible participants in North and South America can receive 50 My Nintendo Platinum Points for taking part. The event announcement says the points should be claimable through the My Nintendo Missions page on or around October 27 (Pacific time). This is a participation reward; it is not the prize for winning the qualifier, and collecting the points does not itself mean a player has advanced.
Advancement is covered separately by the Fall Cup rules: eligible players in the United States, Canada, and Mexico compete in the qualifying events, and the top 24 from each qualifying event may be eligible for the December 12 championship, subject to the official conditions. The rules specify age and residency requirements, including a minimum age of 13 in Canada and the United States. Read the complete rules rather than treating the event’s Platinum Point offer as a tournament placement.

Check access and the official conditions
Nintendo’s Canada Switch Online page lists membership options, but the event requires an active Nintendo Switch Online membership to play online. Players should check their own account status before the event begins, especially if a trial or subscription has recently changed. Nintendo’s event notice and Fall Cup rules are the authoritative references for participation, eligibility, and reward conditions.
The event can be entered during its stated time window, but the competition rules narrow who can be considered for Fall Cup advancement. The official rules also define how scores and qualification are handled, so players aiming for the December championship should confirm that they meet the residency and age terms. The event listing warns that some player information and scores may appear publicly; consider that before taking part.
